LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Little Rock police have two men in custody for the shooting at Park Plaza Thursday night.
Police say they arrested Deonte Edison, 18, and Tristan Bryant, 20; both are charged with one count of capital murder and another count of attempted capital murder.
"It was about six or seven gun shots in a row, just consistent bam, bam, bam, bam bam," says Layth Qassas, Manager of Quiznos.
Sbarro's Pizza sat empty on Friday during what would typically be a buzzing lunch time. Roses honor two shooting victims, one who died after what police are calling a robbery, but Layth feels otherwise.
"To me I just pretty much know that it wasn't just random. I mean it could've been but if someone is going to rob a place they're going to rob a place outside of the mall," says Qassas.
Qassas called 911 but it was too late for Christian Hayes, the 25-year-old who died from the shooting. The female victim was taken to St. Vincent and is in critical condition.
"She was starting to go in and out of consciousness you know. It had been a while you know, she was laying on the ground," says Qassas.
Despite the crime, Qassas says he's not afraid to go to work and is not concerned about robbery.
Police say they don't know whether the suspects got away with any cash.
