LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Spring is in the air and that means more time outdoors and inevitably more boo-boos for your kiddos. Today we have 4 first aid tips you might not have heard of that you can make at home, courtesy of Shine!
1. Remove a splinter with baking soda. Don't try to dig a splinter out, make a paste of baking soda and water, cover with a bandage. After 24 hours you should be able to easily remove the splinter.
2. Create an ice pack with rubbing alcohol. Create a malleable ice pack for those unexpected injuries. Mix one part rubbing alcohol and three parts water into a Ziploc freezer bag.
3. Cinnamon sore throat tea. Sore throats equal no bueno. To sooth those aching tonsils, try milk, ginger, cinnamon, or good old fashion honey.
4. Bug bites and bananas. Peel a banana and place the banana peel, fruit side down on the bug bite to help with the sting or burn.
