Thousands taken from safe in Little Rock Kmart robbery

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Kmart on Rodney Parham Rd. in Little Rock was robbed Sunday night, and police are searching for the suspect.

    According to police narrative, as the assistant manager for Kmart was beginning to leave the premises, he noticed someone had "stabbed a hole" into a tire on his vehicle. When he began to repair it, a man approached him holding a silver handgun and demanded him to open the store and take him to the safe.

    Police said the assistant manager did as the suspect demanded and he then fled westbound from Kmart. An estimated $6,000 was taken from the business.

    The suspect is wanted for aggravated robbery, felony theft of property, and criminal mischief in the second degree. He is described in the incident report as being between the ages of 40 to 45 years old, standing 5'8" tall and weighing 160 lbs. At the time of the incident, he is said to have been wearing a brown jacket, a dark shirt, and tan pants.
