LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - It's time for the Monday edition of Winners and Losers. Let's do this.
Stacy Lewis, former Lady Razorback Golfer, is a winner. She won the LPGA Founders Cup tournament over the weekend and is now ranked number one in the world. This comes just three weeks after being inducted into The Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame at the top of her game.
Also at the top of their game is the Ole Miss Rebels. They won the SEC Basketball Men's Championship, while at the same time taking two out of three from the Hogs in baseball. Last month, they had one of the best football recruiting classes of all time. Folks, Ole Miss has taken a big jump into the realm of the winners.
Ole Miss did not make as big of a jump as our next winner. This stuntman in Australia successfully jumped over a blue Lamborghini coming at him full force. Good thing he didn't land down under.
The people responsible for the prank on Girl Scouts in Portland, Ore. are losers. They convinced the council office there that they were going to buy 6,000 boxes, which is $24,000 worth of delicious, little cookies. It was all bogus. The city rallied on Sunday, and in a special sale, the girls sold almost all of the fake order.
The staff members at the Middletown, N.Y. Walmart are winners. A woman went into labor while shopping for baby supplies. The employees rushed to help, and the baby was born in the Walmart while the mother lay on a bench in the pharmacy. Who says Walmart doesn't deliver?
The new Pope, Francis the First, is definitely a winner. In his first week he is proving to be different in how accessible and down to earth he is. He's getting positive reviews from Rome, to Argentina, to Nick's Barbecue in Carlisle, where several Lonoke County Catholics I talked to, were enthusiastic about their new church leader.
