VAN BUREN, Ark. (KTHV) -- Police said 30 drunken teens and adults were arrested at a house party in northwest Arkansas over the weekend, and children as young as 14 years old now face charges.
KFSM reported that officers responded to the home Saturday after receiving several complaints of a loud party. When they arrived, several people ran into the home, and detective Jonathan Wear said once inside, officers found 20 adults and 10 children drinking alcohol.
"That's one thing most people don`t realize. You don't actually have to supply it. If you are just encouraging a juvenile or a minor to drink, you could be charged with contributing," explained Wear.
Detective Wear said police also found marijuana at the party and are still working to determine who it belongs to. All charges are misdemeanor crimes.
