HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Racing Commission has approved 57 live racing days at Oaklawn for 2014, one more day than the current meet.
The commission on Saturday gave its approval for the track in Hot Springs to open on Jan. 10 and finish the live season on April 12, 2014.
The track will continue with its regular Thursday through Saturday schedule with two holiday cards on Monday and one on a Wednesday.
The racing Mondays will be on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 20, and Presidents Day, Feb. 21. next year.
The 2014 season will conclude with four consecutive racing days, starting Wednesday, April 9.
The current meet continues through April 13.
