HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) - Authorities in Garland County said two teens are under arrest after allegedly breaking into a local home with the homeowner inside.
Authorities said on March 23, Jake Lane, 19, and a 14-year-old broke into a home on Kauman Road while the homeowner was inside.
The woman said she saw the two teens approach her home and try to open the back door. She said that's when she hid in a closet and called 911.
"I was shaking because I was so afraid if they found me, what would they do? Would they panic? I don't know what they'd do," said the homeowner.
Her voice reduced to a whisper with 911 on the line.
"One of them came all the way to the bathroom, and he was probably three steps away from me on the other side of the door," the homeowner described.
Deputies picked up the teens as they walked away from the home. Authorities said they had stolen alcohol and a laptop from the home.
Lane is facing charges of residential burglary, possession of a controlled substance, purchase/possession of intoxicating liquor by minor, contributing to delinquency of a minor, and public intoxication.
