Blue Jackets give Letestu two-year extension

    Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed center Mark Letestu to a two-year contract extension.

    Financial details were not available, but the new deal will take Letestu through the 2014-15 season.

    Letestu has nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points in 34 games for the Blue Jackets this season. He was acquired from Pittsburgh in November 2011 and has compiled 20 goals with 24 assists for 44 points in 85 games with Columbus.

    "Mark is a smart, versatile forward who brings consistency and a great work ethic every time he takes the ice and we are very pleased to have him remain with our hockey club," said Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen.

    The 28-year-old Alberta native has 35 goals and 73 points in 170 games since making his NHL debut during the 2009-10 season with the Penguins.
