HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. (UAM) - Freshman Pamela Quiatchon tallied scores of 82 and 79 to finish first with a two-stroke lead at the Natural State Golf Classic played at the Red Apple Country Club this past Monday and Tuesday in UAM's final tournament of the regular season.
The UAM men's and women's golf teams will compete in the Great American Conference Championships this upcoming Sunday-Tuesday, April 14-16 at the Hot Springs (Ark.) Country Club.
Quiatchon jumped four spots from the first round to the second round to capture her second individual win of the 2012-13 season. She also was the top individual finisher at the Bison Fall Golf Classic this past October.
She led the field of 36 participants with a two-round total of 20 pars.
As a team, UAM totaled a two-round score of 752 for a fifth place finish out of seven teams. UAM was just one stroke behind fourth place finisher Lyon College. Host team Harding won the event with a team score of 665. Southern Nazarene finished second at 707.
Following Quiatchon for UAM was Linda Williams in 18th place with a two-round total of 190. Sarah Roddy tied for 25th at 190, Lauren Roddy finished 30th at 206 and Brooke Boyd finished 35th at 220.
