LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- A young foster child desperately wants a place to call home. Kaitlyn is like any 8-year old.

"Drawing, painting," shared Kaitlyn as she listed off the things she loves. "My favorite colors are purple, pink, and blue. I'd like to be an artist one day."

Like any child, she loves to play outside. That's exactly what she did at Central Arkansas's brand new Children's Library. With an outdoor lab patterned after the state's topography, the library includes wetlands and paths for this 2nd grader to wander and roam.

It is a paradise for Kaitlyn who right now is very much alone, living in a group foster home.

"I don't like living there," she said. "I wanna go to a real home."

Kaitlyn wants that more than anything in the world.

"I want it a thousand percent!" she exclaimed. "I'd like a nice family and a mom and dad and brother and sister."

Until Kaitlyn finds her family, it is all art, all play, and all hope--just like an 8-year old would hope and dream that someone out there will bring her home.

Adoption workers said Kaitlyn needs a stable two-parent home and needs to continue her therapy.

If you'd like more information on Kaitlyn or any of the state foster children up for adoption, go to the Department of Human Services adoption website.

There are no costs associated with adopting a child in state care.
