LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Delta Trust is excited to host a community wide shred event on Saturday, April 27 from 8 a.m. to noon at our Walton Heights branch.
Delta Trust has partnered with Shred-it, the premier, secure, on-site document destruction company, to offer residents a way to destroy confidential documents in a safe way that reduces your environmental impact and improves your security.
"Fraud and identity theft are serious concerns. We hope this event promotes prevention and raises awareness," says Carroll Penick, Chief Operating Officer at Delta Trust. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) estimates as many as 9 million Americans become identity theft victims each year. Research shows that most identity thieves obtain information through traditional paperbased sources rather than electronic channels.
Volunteers will be available to assist in unloading vehicles, and all documents are shredded that day on-site. A few things to remember:
• You DO NOT have to remove staples, paper clips, binder clips or manila folders
• Please REMOVE all paper from binders
• We CANNOT shred binders, cardboard, plastics, hard drives, computer discs or floppies
"It's after tax season and everyone is spring cleaning, so we thought it was perfect time of the year to have this event and provide the community with a safe way to dispose of sensitive information." added Malina Vibhakar, Marketing Director.
