LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Arkansas Health Department rewarded students for their creative films aiming to stop teen smoking Friday.
The campaign's Big Pitch Film Festival invited students to create and produce their own commercials with the goal of targeting teens and preventing them from using tobacco.
"The tobacco industry uses all sorts of media and other types of techniques to try to get kids to start smoking or using other types of tobacco. We want to use those same techniques to try to keep kids from using those products," said organizer Gary Wheeler, who calls making these commercials a way to fight fire with fire.
