LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 27, 2013) -- It's known as History on the Run. The MacArthur Park 5K is set to take place next Friday, May 3 to benefit projects for MacArthur Park, including a new dog park.

This annual race is for people of all ages and fitness levels. The course is certified by officials for US Track and Field.

Cost is $25 for single runners and $250 for corporate teams of four runners. The race will begin at 7 p.m. Race registration includes a T-shirt (while supplies last), lawn party with food and drink and a goody bag.

100% of proceeds benefit MacArthur Park and its affiliated programs, including the new MacArthur Unleashed Dog Park, which opened last month.

"What we're trying to do is make improvements to the park and if somebody hasn't been there for awhile they need to go and take a look," says Sharon Priest, executive director of Downtown Little Rock Partnership. "We want to improve the playground, we want to improve the multi-purpose courts, and in the pond area we want a real fishing pier and an amphitheatre."
