MAGNOLIA, Ark. - Former Southern Arkansas All-America cornerback Don Unamba has reportedly signed a free agent deal with the St. Louis Rams of the National Football League (NFL). The signing came shortly after the conclusion of the 2013 NFL Draft.
With the free agent signing, Unamba becomes the third Mulerider in the last nine years to sign with a NFL team. In 2004 Jordan Babineaux signed with the Seattle Seahawks and in 2011, Cedric Thornton signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Last year, Unamba started all 11 games, finishing with 47 tackles (37 solo), including 1.5 for six yards in loss. The Hurst, Texas native also had three interceptions for 66 yards in return and set the new school record with 17 pass breakups, while also blocking two kicks and recovering a fumble.
