Smoyer and Radack earn Academic Awards

    CONWAY, Ark. (HENDRIX) - Hendrix College senior pitcher Ted Smoyer and junior outfielder Collin Radack were named to the Capital One College Sports Information Directors of America Baseball Academic All-District Team on Wednesday.

    Smoyer and Radack are now eligible for the Academic All-America Team, released May 28.

    Smoyer, of Simi Valley, Calif. went 6-3 on the mound with a 2.77 earned run average, one shutout, and 41 strikeouts in 68.1 innings pitched. He ranked third in the Southern Athletic Association in wins and ninth in ERA. Smoyer has a 4.00 grade point average in Accounting in Hendrix' Maters' program. He compiled a 3.60 GPA as an undergrad in Business and Economics.

    Radack, from Austin, Texas, led the Warriors with a .396 average, 34 runs scored, 57 hits, 11 doubles, three triples and 14 stolen bases to go with 18 runs batted in. He ranked second in the SAA in average and triples, sixth in hits and steals and seventh in doubles. Radack has a cumulative GPA of 3.75 in Business and Ecnomics.

    To be eligible for the Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must be in their second year of competition at their current institution and have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average.
