New Jersey Governor Chris Christie wasn't in a pardoning mood when an itsy, bitsy spider crawled on his desk while he spoke to a group of schoolchildren. Christie gave the spider a smack down and told the students that another fun part of being governor is you're allowed to kill any bugs on your desk without getting into trouble. PETA wasn't happy.
NRA wraps up national convention in Houston
The National Rifle Association closed its annual convention on Sunday with a "Youth Day," offering free six-month memberships to kids in attendance. The event happened a day after the group welcomed its youngest lifetime member-a 3-year-old-and drew some ire from anti-gun advocates as most of the kids were the age of the Newtown massacre victims.
