LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas is getting another office to help manage the nation's electric grid.
Midcontinent Independent Systems Operator announced Wednesday it will build a facility in Little Rock and hire up to 50 employees who will earn an average annual salary of $85,000.
The utility management organization, known as MISO, says it will spend between $5 million and $8 million for its Little Rock regional operations center.
The company says it manages energy in 11 states and the Canadian province of Manitoba. The nonprofit is headquartered in Carmel, Ind., with operations centers in Carmel and St. Paul, Minn.
