LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- A judge today found probable cause to charge a Pine Bluff father with first degree murder in the death of his infant son.

Thursday morning Pine Bluff police responded to a call of an unresponsive baby in this home on Richard Court.

"The mother came home from work and another adult in the home told her that there was a problem with the child," says Kate Luck of the Department of Human Services.

According to a police report, the child's father, Ivory Jones, told police he woke up to find the family dog lying on top of nine-week-old Corey Jones. However, police say when he appeared in court Friday morning, he confessed to killing the infant.

Twenty-two-year-old Ivory Jones now faces a charge of first degree murder. Authorities haven't released details, but say the nine-week-old died of suffocation.

The Arkansas Department of Human Services is also investigating the death. They say a four-year-old who also lived in the same home has since been taken into state custody.

"We took the other sibling in our custody for 72 hours. We're going to evaluate the situation, make sure the child is safe and then determine how we will move forward," Luck adds.

A judge has ordered Jones to be held on a $250,000 cash bond.
