CLARENDON, Ark. (KTHV) - An elementary school in Monroe County was placed on lockdown Friday after a parent made threats to his child.
According to Clarendon School District Superintendent Lee Vent, Clarendon Elementary School was placed on lockdown for an hour and a half around the noon hour on Friday after a father made a threat to his 5-year-old child.
Vent told THV 11 News that there was no immediate threat to students and the parent was arrested later in the day about 20 miles away in a small town between Monroe and Morrow. The father's name was not revealed, nor the name of the town he was arrested in.
