LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- What started as a road rage incident ended with a shooting Saturday, and now the victim's mother is speaking out.
Mardell Turner says her son, Arista Aldridge, was planning to cook dinner for her on Mother's Day. Instead, she is grieving his death.
It happened on Saturday afternoon around 1:30. Turner says her 46-year-old son Arista Aldridge was with his girlfriend and four-year-old son when they were involved in some sort of road rage incident.
Little Rock police say 28 year-old Chris Schnarr argued with Aldridge before shooting him in front of his son near the intersection of Sixth and Ferry streets.
"He was a person that loved people," said Turner. And he loved his two sons. He was the father of two sons and this last child was four years old. And he watched his daddy get shot. And he said, 'My daddy got shot by a mean man.'"
The driver in the other vehicle, Chris Schnarr, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with first-degree murder. Schnarr is being held without bond at the Pulaski County Detention Center.
Arista Aldridge was the second son that Mardell Turner lost to violence.
In 2004, a man entered her other son's home and shot him. He bled to death on his couch.
