WHITE HALL, Ark. (KTHV) -- A second grader battling liver cancer received a special delivery Monday.
Students at Moody Elementary in White Hall delivered 300 silly socks to Chance Storz at Arkansas Children's Hospital. He has not been able to attend school since the first part of March, so his fellow classmates thought bringing him silly socks would be a great way to cheer him up with and make him giggle.
Chance's mom, Billie Storz, said it came at a good time.
"Chance's chemotherapy causes nerve damage. That's one of the things they recommend is to keep socks on your feet and keep them good and warm, and it helps with some of the nerve pain," she explained.
Storz said with all the socks, Chance should have warm feet for a long time.
Christie Park, a health aide with the White Hall School District, came up with the idea.
