FLIPPIN, Ark. (AP) - Authorities in northern Arkansas say the death of a 61-year-old man in Flippin has been ruled a homicide.

Flippin Police Chief Dusty Smith says Robert McCorkle's death earlier this month was ruled a homicide by the state medical examiner's office. Smith tells The Baxter Bulletin that authorities hope the public will reach out with tips that will lead to an arrest.

Police did not release McCorkle's cause of death or say whether a weapon was involved.

Workers who regularly met at McCorkle's home found him dead at his residence on the morning of June 6.
