Jacksonville hosting FestiVille June 21-22

    JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (Jacksonville Parks and Recreation) - The Jacksonville Parks and Recreation department will host FestiVille, a new and free community event, June 21 - 22 in Dupree Park.

    This new festival will feature carnival rides and games, food vendors, a fishing derby, 5k and 1k fun run, CAVBC volleyball tournament, a K9 Cutie Contest, Mr. & Miss FestiVille Pageant, exhibitor booths, entertainment and much more. Admission to the festival will be free. Rides and some activities may cost.

    Kevin House, director of the Parks and Recreation department said, "We're so excited to introduce the community to FestiVille. We're packing as many diverse activities as we can into two days. Plus, our entertainment line-up - which will be at two different stages both Friday and Saturday - will be a great mix of Arkansas talent."

    A schedule for FestiVille activities can be found at www.festiville.org. Some activities, including the Run the Ville 5k/1k, the fishing derby, Canine Cutie contest and Mr. & Miss. FestiVille Pageant require entry forms. The forms can be found at CityofJacksonville.net under the FestiVille tab or by contacting the Parks and Recreation department at 501-982-0818.
