LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 22, 2013) -- Most adults remember turning that tough age of 13. Remember the struggles and triumphs of that difficult age through a musical that's coming to an end this weekend.
'13: The Musical' opened last week, and will be performed again today and tomorrow at the Weekend Theatre, located at 7th and Chester in downtown Little Rock.
The synopsis: When his parents get divorced and he's forced to move from New York to a small town in Indiana, Evan Goldman just wants to make friends and survive the school year. Easier said than done. The star quarterback is threatening to ruin his life and his only friend, Patrice, won't talk to him. The school freak sees an opportunity for blackmail and someone is spreading the 'nastiest' rumors.
With an unforgettable rock score from Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, 13 is a hilarious, high-energy musical for all ages about discovering that cool is where you find it and sometimes where you least expect it.
Director Hannah Sawyer and some of the cast members stopped by 'THV 11 This Morning Saturday' with a sneak peek of the musical.
The last two performances of '13' take place Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The Box Office opens 1 hour prior to curtain and the House opens 30 minutes prior to curtain. Tickets are $20 for adults, $16 for students and seniors.
