MONTGOMERY ZOO, AL (CNN) -- This is no ordinary rhino calf. The little guy was conceived through artificial insemination.
Baby Ethan is the first endangered Indian rhino calf to live and thrive as a result of AI. A 12-year-old female at Montgomery Zoo in Alabama gave birth to the baby June 5.
Like any other calf, he stays close to his mom.
Ethan was named after a six-year-old Alabama boy who had been held hostage in an Alabama bomb shelter last January.
