FORT SMITH, Ark. (KTHV) - A Fort Smith man has been sentenced to five years in prison after he was caught with stolen pills in West Virginia.
According to Unites Stated attorney Conner Eldridge, Mark Anthony Teas, 34, of Fort Smith, was sentenced to five years in prison based on his criminal history and ordered to pay a restitution of $21,915 to replace the value of the drugs stolen from Prince Drug Store in Fort Smith and cover the cost of damage.
Eldridge said Teas took a large amount of oxycontin pills from the drug store on July 23, 2012 and planned to sell them in Moundsville, West Virginia. He was arrested by authorities there.
Teas was indicted by a federal grand jury on Oct.11, 2012, and pleaded guilty Jan. 16, 2013.
