RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas Tech has announced the creation of the annual Dave Falconer Memorial Golf Tournament to honor a former coach.
The school announced Friday that the first tournament would be played July 27. Entries are $75 each and proceeds will benefit the Wonder Boys golf program.
Falconer coached the golf team from 1989 until his death in 2011. His teams won five conference championships and appeared in NAIA or NCAA postseason tournaments 10 times.
Falconer was also an assistant men's basketball coach from 1987 to 1995. His final year with the team included a trip to the NAIA Final Four.
