BALD KNOB, Ark. (KTHV) - A Bald Knob officer shot at a suspect's truck after he said the suspect tried to run him over.

Jimmie Feagin faces numerous charges including aggravated assault for the July 28 incident. Officer Foster Steward said he approached Feagin's pickup Sunday at a tobacco store on Highway 367 North in Bald Knob to serve outstanding warrants out of White County when Feagin drove off.

The officer said he jumped into his car to block the suspect and got to draw his weapon, demanding Feagin's surrender. Chief Tim Sanford said that's when Feagin backed into a dumpster and then drove at the officer.

"As they come back around the west side of the building, Officer Steward fired two shots into the rear driver's side of the vehicle hoping to disable it. They then went about two miles north," described Sanders.

He followed the suspect in his cruiser before Feagin jumped out of his pickup and ran into the woods. The officer chased Feagin into a nearby lake and took him into custody.

All of the charges Feagin faces includes: Aggravated Assault, Fleeing, Driving on Suspended License, No Proof of Insurance, Reckless Driving, Seat Belt, Speeding, and Fictitious Tags

Feagin's truck has been impounded pending the outcome of the investigation.
