LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - New, alarming numbers were released about teen dating violence.
A third of teens said they've been victims of physical, sexual or emotional abuse. In the online survey of more than 1,000 teens, almost one in three said they've been the perpetrator.
Little Rock family therapist Howard Turney said it's important for parents to pay attention to who their kids are involved with.
"Who are the kids they're spending time with? Do they come from homes where abuse is going on? Sometimes it can be normalized," said Turney.
Rates got higher as teens got older, and while they survey showed girls are more likely than boys to be victims- girls are nearly as likely to say they've been violent in relationships.
