PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KHTV) - Pine Bluff police is investigating a one car accident that kills the driver.

Just after 10 p.m. July 31 PBPD got a call to report to a fatal car accident at Arkansas Highway 190/6th Avenue and Spruce Street.

Police say a black Nissan Altima, being driven by 26-year-old Durrell Huckaby, was driving east on 6th Avenue at a high rate of speed. Ark. Hwy. 190 curves to the left at Spruce Street as it starts to go over a railroad overpass.

Police say as the Altima approached Spruce Street, still at a high rate of speed, the Altima left the roadway on the right side. The car rolled over several times and came to rest on 6th Street.

Huckaby was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say there were no other known occupants inside.

The crash is still under investigation and why the black Altima was traveling at a high rate of speed has not been determined.
