LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - It's time for another edition of Winners & Losers!
Winner Stacy Lewis does it again. The former Lady Razorback golfer won the Women's British Open at St. Andrews Scotland over the weekend. It's her second major gold tournament win.
The Conway Kids triathlon gets a winner and loser tag. It's a winner because 350 kids came from all over the state Saturday. It's a loser because halfway through it, lightning cancelled the older kids divisions. They'll be back next year.
But, Conway is a clear cut winner when it comes to Bark for Your Park. This was an on line contest, and thanks to their ingenious YouTube video, they beat out 400 other cities to become one of 15 finalists. They won $20,000.
The dogs weren't the only winners last week. Henry the Rooster was, too. He has become the mascot of the Prothro McDonalds, greeting customers in the drive thru, and giving wake up calls that have become a morning tradition.
While the dogs and chickens enjoyed a great week, Arkansas bats took a nose dive. Literally. They're losers because of the fungus known as white nose syndrome. It has been found in bats and is deadly in Arkansas--not to be confused with brown nose syndrome which affects humans in middle management.
