LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Hardig family of Benton continues to receive more encouraging news about 12-year-old Kali, who is fighting parasitic meningitis.

On Wednesday, more than two weeks after she was diagnosed with the usually-fatal infection, her mom told THV11:

"Kali has had a big day! She has moved her legs and arms. She has moved her head. She will shake her head yes and no to answer questions. She is doing so good! But we still are taking baby steps. And praying for her to get better every day!"

Kali would be the third known survivor in the world of parasitic meningitis if she continues to improve from this condition.
