LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Less than three days after Samantha Cass was gunned down in the middle of a busy North Little Rock intersection her family is thanking the community for their support.
Cass's mother and brother were at the local Hardee's restaurant Saturday thanking restaurant patrons and staff for their fundraising efforts this weekend. So far, the restaurant has raised nearly $1,000 in donations. They're also giving ten percent of Saturday's profits to help cover funeral costs. "I see now that there are still a lot of good people out here and I appreciate everybody and everyone's concern in trying to help out," said Jeremy Wilshhons, Cass's brother. "It's something I can't explain you know? You just don't know how to feel when you lose your sister, your daughter, your wife."
Wilshhons was joined by his mother who also expressed gratitude towards Hardee's district manager Ryan Taylor and the group of supporters holding signs urging anyone with information to notify police. "We're asking and pleading and begging the public to do something about this, to help the police out because we want this monster off the street," added Rev. Benny Johnson of the Arkansas Stop the Violence program. "We're just asking for the community's help because this is a sad situation and Samantha's family deserves justice."
