UNDATED (USA TODAY) - According to Us Weekly's Ian Drew, the much-awaited boy band reunion IS happening.
"It is in the works right now," he said to On Air with Ryan Seacrest. Though the performance "could fall apart at any minute," says Drew, the plan is for *NSYNC to take the stage as part of Justin Timberlake's performance.
But *NSYNC-er Lance Bass isn't exactly confirming that. Bass addressed rumors about the reunion on his SiriusXm show, Dirty Pop with Lance Bass. He said that people assumed there would be one after seeing the crew together again at a NYC club, but that doesn't mean there will be one.

Is it just us, or does this sound a lot like the rumored Destiny's Child reunion during Beyoncé's Super Bowl performance? Those rumors were true, but are these?
If your memory is a little fuzzy, that's Justin, J.C. Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick, together again at the MTV VMAs. Brett S. Vergara, a former intern at MTV, tweeted about it Tuesday morning.
Reunion rumors have popped up since the band broke up in 2002, and it sounds like Timberlake, who once said that possibility is "not in the cards," has finally relented.
It's just for one performance, but we'll take it.
So we've got Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Robin Thicke and more all playing at the live MTV awards show in Brooklyn on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.
Who are you most excited to see?
