HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - A new memorial is in place for an Arkansas native killed in Afghanistan, but it's not easy to find.
The memorial for U.S. Navy SEAL Chief Petty Officer Adam Brown is at the bottom of Lake Ouachita. A group of scuba divers led the initiative to honor Brown with the memorial, which was placed in the lake last month.
Brown was killed in 2010 in Afghanistan when he was on his eighth deployment. He was from Hot Springs.
Project coordinator William Stephens tells The Sentinel-Record that the memorial is known as "Fearless Rock." It includes a plaque with Brown's picture and a summary of his accomplishments.
Stephens says some divers are leaving military coins or other items at the memorial in honor of Brown.
