LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- This morning we're calling all heroes. THV 11 is starting our third annual Diaper Drive next month!
Last year, with your help, we collected more than 126,000 diapers. This year, we're hoping to break that record.
Brandi Johnston with the Rice Depot shared details this morning.
Imagine not being able to go to work because you don't have enough diapers to send your child to daycare. Or, imagine having your child wear soiled diapers longer than they should. The Arkansas Diaper Depot was started by the Rice Depot in 2010 to help struggling mothers, families, and their infants with much-needed diapers. Each year the depot distributes more than 400,000 diapers across Arkansas through 27 partner organizations and their disaster relief efforts, but resources are limited and many people are not aware of the diaper need in our state.
That's why THV 11 has joined forces with the Arkansas Rice Depot. You may recall, the first drive collected more than 67,000 diapers. Last year, that number jumped to more than 126,000, and this year we hope to break that record. But, we need your help to do it!
If you're holding a drive or would like more information on how to be a part of Diaper Drive 2013, email the Arkansas Rice Depot at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 501-565-8855.
