FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas men's and women's cross country earn weekly SEC honors.
For her efforts in the Razorback Duals meet, senior Stephanie Brown has been named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Women's Runner of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
A Downs, Ill. native, Brown clocked a time of 13:39 to lead the No. 9 Razorbacks to a pair of perfect scores against Missouri and Missouri Southern. The victory for Brown was her first collegiate cross country win in her career. Brown led the pack of Razorbacks throughout the race and currently holds the top women's 4k time in the SEC this season. This was the first weekly honor for Brown in her career.
Brown and the Razorbacks return to action next weekend on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego Calif. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.
Junior Stanley Kebenei has been named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Men's Runner of the Week after leading the No. 5 Razorbacks to a pair of dual meet wins in the Arkansas Duals meet, the league has announced.
Kebenei, a Nakura, Kenya native, crossed the finish line at Agri Park with a time of 20:09 at the 6,600 meter distance. He led a pack of 41 participants for the race and helped the Razorbacks earn a perfect score against Missouri and another win against Missouri Southern. This is the first SEC weekly honor of his career.
The Razorbacks return to the course next weekend on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo.
