LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The THV Diaper Drive kicked off with a bang at the Cabot Walmart Tuesday.
More than $6,000 was raised. That money pays for the Arkansas Rice Depot's membership into the National Diaper Bank which gives them 300,000 diapers!
On top of that, another 27,000 + diapers was collected. The two biggest donations were $3,000 dollars from McArthur Church in Jacksonville and 18,000 + diapers from ReNew Church in Cabot.
Crain Ford in Jacksonville unloaded a truck load of 5,000 diapers! The Cabot Civitan Club donated more than 2,300 diapers. Knight's Grocery in Cabot donated $250. The Arkansas Federal Credit Union and the Arkansas Electric Cooperatives each donated $1,000. The Sertoma Club in Jacksonville donated $100, and countless others in the surrounding communities donated diapers and dollars for families in need.
We've already broken last year's record, and this was the first stop!
We'll be live next Tuesday, Sept. 17 from the Bryant Walmart. Then the following Tuesday, Sept. 24 from the Conway 65 N. Walmart.
We'll be live during the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts!
