Can't get enough Oreos?
It turns out they really are addictive -- just as much as drugs. Connecticut College researchers found Oreo cookies activate the same pleasure centers in the brain as drugs like cocaine.
Researchers say that's true for most high fat or sugary foods. Their study involved hungry lab rats choosing between rice cakes and Oreos, who picked the cookies.
And their favorite part-- just like many people-- was the cream-filled center.
Researchers compared the Oreo habit to cocaine because the mice responded to the cookies in a similar way they did to the drug during a previous study, when mice chose between cocaine and saline.
