LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The man arrested Thursday for having a handgun on school property will appear in court on Friday.
According to Cherith Beck with the U.S. Dept. of Justice, Zyphria Watts is scheduled for initial appearance at 2 p.m. Friday with
United States District Judge Joe J. Volpe.
Beck said Watts was a wanted fugitive in a drug case which the court indicted on April 3, 2013. He was arrested at Pulaski Heights Elementary School on Thursday for having a handgun in his pocket, which he said was on him due to a recent hunting trip.
Friday's court hearing is regarding his federal drug charge; the charge for having a gun on school property will be addressed at a separate hearing.
