FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Organizers have rescheduled a half-marathon foot race that was to take place Saturday in Fayetteville.
All Sports Productions called off the race due to effects from last week's winter storm and drew the ire of participants by saying entry fees wouldn't be refunded. On Friday, the company said the race was rescheduled for Dec. 21.
All Sports Productions say people who registered can move their entry to the Dec. 21 race or use it to enter next year's race.
The company issued a statement saying that complaints from runners and sponsors provoked the change. Fayetteville television station KHOG reports (http://is.gd/RSOLmD ) the statement acknowledges that the company's policy of no refunds was "a mistake" and that it had to be changed.
