LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Flames were shooting from a home in downtown Little Rock Sunday night.
The residential fire started at the home on the intersection of Cross St. and 3rd St. around 9 p.m. Multiple crews and at least six fire engines were at the scene; it took between 20 and 30 minutes to contain the fire.
Authorities said two men were in the home when the fire began, but both of them safely made it out.
The owner of the home told THV11 on Monday that the fire started with an electrical outlet and spread to a mattress in a bedroom on the first floor. He said his son tried to extinguish the fire, but it spread too fast.
The owner's family, he said, moved to the home in 1956 when he was a young boy.
