HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV/AP) - A bond hearing took place Monday for a man charged in the 2011 death of an Arkansas police dispatcher.

In Kevin Duck's bond hearing Monday in Hot Springs, he asked a judge to reduce his $250,000 bond to $50,000; the judge denied his request but lowered it to $150,000.

Duck has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in his girlfriend Dawna Natzke's death.

Natzke was a police dispatcher in the central Arkansas community of Hot Springs Village.

Natzke was last seen leaving a Christmas party with Duck Dec. 21, 2011. Her body was found by a volunteer searcher Dec. 31.

Duck said that at the time of her disappearance, he went to bed around 11 p.m., while she stayed up watching TV, but when he woke up the next morning, Natzke and her car were gone. The next day, her car was discovered in a remote area of the Ouachita National Forest. The vehicle had been burned.

A medical examiner says Natzke died within a few hours of leaving the holiday party. An autopsy says she died from blunt force trauma and drowning.
