BOISE, Idaho (CNN) - The search for a plane that vanished December 1st has ended.
The wreckage of the plane was discovered on top of a ridge in central Idaho.
Officials said it appears the five people who were on board the plane when it vanished are dead.
The six-seat bonanza lost radar contact back on December 1st near Yellow Pine. It was carrying five family members from San Jose on its way to Montana.
After weeks of searching on the ground with no luck, an internet search that mapped the area spotted something.
Early friday morning, the pilot's brother set out to check location.
The family said that it is amazing that anyone in the world can volunteer and look at these images on the internet.
"One of these people said, 'I think I see something here.' And, based on that image and her find, these guys went up there and sure enough that's where the plane was."
The family was instructed not to touch the site so the crash could be investigated.
While they're happy this saga is coming to a close, it's still hard for the family.
