What do you use Facebook for the most? Despite the amount of cat memes and baby pictures we sift through and enjoy, many people would probably answer with one word: News.
In a service called "Paper," Facebook is preparing to unveil a news aggregator that pulls social updates and news stories from publications specifically relevant to the user.
Mashable writer Kurt Wagner spoke with an unnamed Facebook spokesperson and reports that it's unclear at this time if Paper will exist as an app by itself or in some other form.
The service, described in <re/code>, is much like Flipboard, a customizable digital magazine of sorts on just about any topic imaginable. According to <re/code>, it will also be a mobile-focused news-reading app.
This service comes after Facebook updated its news feed algorithm twice since March to give users more "high quality" and relevant content.
According to Mashable, the launch of Paper could happen sometime this month.
