HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) - One man has been arrested on several felony warrants following a vehicle chase that ended with a crash.
According to the Garland County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Mark Joseph Geurin, was arrested shortly after 7 a.m. after he tried to flee from a sheriff's deputy trying to take him into custody.
The sheriff's office said the chase ended when Geurin lost control of his black 2002 Pontiac GrandAm, almost hit a school bus, and slid sideways off an exit ramp. Geruin's car came to a rest after hitting a dividing wall head on.
Geurin was charged with felony fleeing in a vehicle in addition to theft by receiving more than $2,500, two counts of failure to appear, $9,369 in back child support, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, and not wearing a seatbelt.
Geurin could get up to 6 years in prison for felony fleeing. He remains in police custody in lieu of $8,120 in total bonds.
