LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Two men are facing drug charges after they led police on a chase through Little Rock, and two of their friends have also been arrested.
Sgt. Cassandra Davis said police tried to pull over 30-year-old Aaron Sadler because they thought he might be connected to an armed robbery that happened previously, but he took off when the blue lights came on. After turning onto a dead-end street, Sadler and his passenger, Felipe Garcia, 28, tried to get out and run, but they didn't get far.
While police said they turned out not to be the robbery suspects they were looking for, Capitan Terry Hastings said they did find something else. Davis said Sadler was carrying a backpack with approximately 27.5 ounces of "green veggie matter" and a set of scales; Garcia was said to be carrying 2.5 lbs. of marijuana. Another 13.5 ounces of the "veggie matter" were found in their vehicle.
Sadler has been charged with Impeding the Flow of Traffic, Running a Stop Sign, two counts of Fleeing, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana.
Garcia has been charged with Possession of Marijuana, Fleeing, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
But, that's not where the story ends. One of Garcia's relatives, Miguel Angel Valasco, 27, became irate and started yelling at officers while they were conducting their investigation. Valasco was arrested for Inciting a Riot. A friend that was with him, Stephen Quimby, 20, was also arrested for Disturbing the Peace after their elevated voices brought several residents in the neighborhood out to gather around the crime scene.
More "green veggie mater" was found on Quimby, and Valasco was found to have several warrants out against him.
