NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A move to outsource substitute teachers in North Little Rock was solidified Monday evening.
The school board voted last month to hire SubTeach USA, a private company out of Paragould, to outsource the district's substitute teachers. Monday the board voted to approve the contract with the company.
North Little Rock Schools Superintendent Kelly Rodgers said the deal could save the school district in the neighborhood of $50,000 to $70,000.
"With the requirement for health insurance, they have different regulations for an outsource vendor like that, so it's actually going to save us money in the long run," said Rodgers.
Rodgers also said the school district's current substitute teachers will just have to fill out paperwork with SubTeach USA, and they'll be able to keep working within the school district.
