LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Could singing, dancing, and drawing help kids learn math, science and reading? Arkansas schools will soon find out.

The senate gave the final OK Monday to a bill that studies the impact of the arts on education. It allots $2 million for a 5-year pilot program, testing Arkansas A+, which incorporates various forms of the arts into normal classroom lessons.

"It's a very humbling experience to have gone through the process and had almost no opposition and have it be totally bipartisan is pretty amazing," said Paul Leopolous, with the THEA Foundation, a proponent of the program.

The bill now goes to the governor's desk for his signature.
