LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Little Rock School Board last night turned down a recommendation by the superintendent to hire armed guards for every elementary school in the district.
Parents in the district got questionnaires earlier this week, asking if they would be in favor of the guards at their kids' schools. Each side of the issue had its own arguments.
Several of the other parts of the superintendents plans were approved however adding 11 more unarmed guards district wide, installing magnetic locks to exterior doors, hiring more police officers to work campuses.
